I can get a coffee and a sandwich in German, or a vodka and tonic, ask the way, or get in a taxi, and tell the guy where I want to go, left here, second right etc, but that’s about it, so it was no good me trying to follow the film. One evening, my elder grandson, about 15 or 16 at the time, turned the TV on, and started watching a film. Just as I don't think they will be selling the rights to Love Island or Celebrity Juice in Norway Though, with Sky and co-productions, it is starting to pick up recentlyI'm sure France and Scandinavia are more than capable of making just as much crap TV as the British do, but we are fortunate enough never to have to see it. It is most strange that France and the scandies can make so many wonderful programmes of such a high calibre consistantly, and yet the UK cannot. I also agree with thr person that said the subs mean one has to concentrate, I can't watch Braquo over my laptop,it would be a crime. The music and mood was completely destroyed, yanks don't know what to do with Japanese themes/style.
I love Princess Monoke, but when I started the watch the dubbed version on Film4 it was so laughably bad I stopped it. Indeed, I cannot stand any dubbed SG films, with the sole exception of Laputa.
